awea events Why Should You Attend AWEA Events?
The revenue generated from AWEA events is put right back into services that promote and advance the wind industry. Examples include promoting favorable policies (such as the PTC and RPS) through work with our government legislators, wind visibility campaigns, communicating and educating America on the benefits of wind energy, addressing environmental concerns, pushing for advanced transmission access for wind, and many others. ONLY AWEA puts your dollars to work on advancing the wind energy industry.

| AWEA Wind Power Project Siting Workshop |
February 24- 25, 2009
Seattle, WA
AWEA’s annual Wind Power Project Siting Workshop will be held February 24-25, 2009, in Seattle, Washington. Wind project siting issues span the entire range of project planning, construction and operation. Responsible siting of wind projects requires an understanding of interactions with permitting agencies, the public, wildlife, and surrounding land uses during each stage of a project. Please join us at the 2009 Siting Workshop to get the latest on relevant siting topics for the region. The recent approval of a 909 MW wind project in Oregon and the 2008 review of the Washington Wind Power Guidelines make the Pacific Northwest an ideal place to engage on these issues.

| AWEA Wind & Transmission Workshop |
March 17 - 18, 2009
Overland Park, KS
Transmission is the biggest long term barrier to significant wind energy expansion, and is already leading to significant challenges for developers in the US. This workshop will explore ways wind and transmission companies can:
- make more use of existing transmission capacity,
- work through the logjams in interconnection queues,
- expand transmission capacity.
